Thomas Cook travel agencies have decided to stop selling tickets to dolphin and elephant shows. They decided that the shows do not meet even a minimum of acceptable animal care.

This is really big news. Thomas Cook Travel is a big company and a respected company. Their example will influence others.
These animal shows need tourist money to survive. If a big company like Thomas cook says no to them then these shows will eventually be unprofitable. If they stop making money from the animals then they will stop using them. It may take time, but it will happen.
