RE: One really smart hamster - Catherine - 01-15-2014 It is sad losing Judy, but it is the loss of the colony that I am really going to feel. I only have three hamsters left from my colony. As long as there is one hamster left, the colony is not gone. I know there will be no more babies, but these last hamsters are my babies. When they go more than a decade of raising hamsters will come to an end. I will have rescue hamsters from time to time, but it will never be my hamsters, descended from my original Mumsie and Bunny and their mate Andrew. It closes a chapter on a whole area of my life with animals. I will never be the "Hamster Lady" again. That being said, Robin seems determined to make it his job to be the last hamster with a flourish. The other two are old and frail, but Robin is a character. I do not like the way he is eyeing my hot chocolate. I am not prepared to share my hot chocolate with a hamster. I don't steal his peanuts. |
