Successful turtle rescue - Catherine - 03-05-2018

Somehow a 31 pound snapping turtle, who should still be hibernating, became stuck in a hole in the ice. The turtle was stuck with its face in the water so there was a lot of urgency to the rescue. Fortunately The Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre was able to help.

After a very quick and successful rescue the snapping turtle is now resting at the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre. He will be released as soon as the weather is consistently warm enough for him.
Good thing someone saw him in time and knew who to call. He is one lucky turtle.
