Sea turtles hatch on deserted Brazilian beaches - Catherine - 03-31-2020

The sea turtles have laid their eggs on the beaches of Brazil and now it is time for them to hatch. This year the beaches are deserted  because of the pandemic and the hatching turtles raced to the sea in silence with no crowds to disturb them.  This time 97 Hawksbill
hatchlings emerged. So far this year almost 300 hundred turtles have hatched and made it to the sea. There have been Hawksbill sea turtles, Green Sea Turtles and Olive Ridley Turtles.

This is great news for the world's endangered turtles. A good hatching like this could really help the species to survive.
If only we could let them hatch in peace every year.

At least some good news nature is getting a break from people.

Nature is making the best of this. There must be animals nesting and hatching all over the world who will benefit from being left alone.
There should be less garbage on the beaches since no one is allowed on beaches anymore.
