Closed Irish Pub becomes wildlife hospital. - Catherine - 03-13-2021 So many places are closed and buildings sit empty during the lockdown. One pub in Ireland is letting some of its buildings be used by government funded Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland. The out buildings are full of injured animals and orphaned animals. With more people at home because of the pandemic and more people taking nature walks, more people are finding wildlife in need and bringing it in to be helped. https://www.ctvnews.ca/lifestyle/locked-down-pub-becomes-ireland-s-first-wildlife-hospital-1.5317917 It is a creative new use for an old space. The pub building is closed, but still selling takeout coffee. The rest of the buildings are busy with animals being cared for. It is a good use of space for the pub and the animals need the help. No one is enjoying the pandemic lockdowns, they are causing us to rethink how we do things. If it has led to the opening of a wildlife hospital then we have managed to bring some good out of a bad situation. |
