Swift Bricks could become mandatory for new homes in the UK. - Catherine - 09-05-2023

Swift Bricks are special hollow bricks that provide a nesting site for birds like Swifts. New more energy efficient homes lack places for birds like swifts to nest.
Adding special swift bricks when you build the homes, provides for those birds.
The issue if being debated by the House of Lords. If it passes the Swift Bricks would be required in all new homes being build.

I hope this passes. It is a little thing for a home builder with big consequences for the birds that need the bricks.
It is a chance to do something good for nature at very little cost and inconvenience to ourselves.
The government has the opportunity to do something good. I hope they see that and act on it.
