Cheetahs introduced to India, one year later - Catherine - 09-18-2023

The Cheetah introduction program is now a year old. They are about to introduce more cheetahs.
There have been some losses. Some were just chance and some could be prevented this time around. Some of the cheetahs developed winter coats that were unsuitable for life in India. Choosing cheetahs less likely to have heavy coats should help.

It may take years to fully establish cheetahs in the area, but it will be worth it when they finally roam free in their old habitat.
The fact that there is one cub is a good sign that they are settling in.
