Animal defense mechanisms that are a bit extreme. - Catherine - 04-01-2024

I found a list of 9 animal defense mechanisms that are extreme. They are also different and even weird.

Pooping and vomiting seem to be popular ways of discouraging predators. Shooting blood from the eyes is a bit unnerving.
When animals want to survive. they will do anything.

They missed a good one. Hognose snakes play dead. That sounds fairly common. However they do a whole dramatic death scene first.
The snake thrashes around and collapses on its back. The snake's mouth turns bluish. It droops its tongue out and it releases a nasty smelling musk that smells like a dead animal. I have seen it and it is dramatic and convincing. Most predators want nothing to do with that.
