Lost cat travels almost 1000 miles to get home - Catherine - 09-23-2024

A couple was visiting Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Wyoming is on the east side of the Rocky Mountains. Their cat Rayne Beau went missing.
They searched, but they eventually had to return home to Salinas, California. That is on the west side of the Rocky Mountains. Rayne Beau is microchipped and two months later they got a call from Roseville, California. That is about 190  miles from Salinas and about 1000 miles from Yellowstone National Park.
They have no idea how he made it to Roseville. He was in pretty bad shape, but he made it.

Could Rayne Beau really have walked through the Rocky Mountains in two months?
I don't know if I could have walked that far. That is pretty rough country for walking.
Did he hitch rides? If so, how did he know who to travel with. He must really love his people to do all that to get home.
Cats are remarkable creatures.
