Dog found tied to a fence during Hurricane Milton - Catherine - 10-12-2024
A state trooper on patrol, found a dog tied to a fence standing in a lot of water as the rain continued to fall. Somehow he managed to rescue the dog. The dog is now known as Trooper and is doing well. He is being cared for by the Hillsborough Pet Resource Center. He will be ready for a forever home soon.

It is never okay to abandon a pet. It is even worse to leave it tied up during a storm. If the water had risen he would have been helpless.
He couldn't even sit down the water was so deep. This dog deserves and extra special forever home after all he has been through.

The owner of the dog has been found and he will be charged. So there is going to be some justice for Trooper for the ordeal he went through.

They might not have found the owner, but he went to the shelter and tried to reclaim him.
That tells me that he doesn't see how wrong his actions were. The dog was standing in cold water, unable to get away. The water was already up to his chest and rising. He would eventually have drowned, but it would have taken hours of struggling to survive before the water would have been too deep.
He actually thought he would get his dog back. I don't think it occurred to him that he would be charged with animal cruelty.
They need to make an example of this guy. Every time there is a hurricane or bad tropical storm people leave dogs tied up outside where they can drown in the storm surge. That is not just not okay. It has to stop happening.

I read about that I hope he doesn't get his dog back I've watched a few videos about the stupid things people have done with their animals.

The guy has been arrested and even the Governor of Florida wants him charged.
They didn't know who he was until he tried to claim his dog. He is not only cruel, he is stupid.
