In the permafrost in Russia, scientists have discovered a frozen saber toothed cat cub about 3 weeks old. The cub died and has been frozen for 32,000 years.
This cub has actual fur and we can really see what it looked like.

This is an incredible discovery. We will learn much because the cat is so well preserved.
Having actual fur means we can really know what color it was. When we just have bones, we are really guessing at the color.
It will be interesting to see how much this ancient cat is different from modern cats of similar species.
If they found one cat, maybe they will find others.
