1000 animals repatriated to Madagascar. - Catherine - 12-02-2024

In a landmark case against animal trafficking, Thailand is sending a thousand animals back the Madagascar.
Mostly they are tortoises and lemurs. Some of them died because of the conditions they endured after being trafficked.

This is big. Not only was animal trafficking stopped, the Thailand government is being very public about rescuing the animals and returning them to Madagascar.
They even held a ceremony to hand over the animals to the Madagascar authorities.
The very public returning of the animals shows that Thailand is committed to combatting animal trafficking.
This is a very positive step in protecting endangered species from trafficking.
