Calvin is a North American Right Whale. She was orphaned in 1992 when her mother was struck by a ship.
Calvin has given birth 4 times. She was last seen 3 years ago with serious wounds from entanglement.
After all this time, it was assumed she was dead. Then she was suddenly back. Calvin is resilient, she has been entangled 8 times.

We need to reduce ship strikes and entanglements. There are so few Right Whales.
I am glad Calvin is alive, but next time she might not be so lucky.
