This is a disturbing story. A woman in China passed herself off as an animal lover who just wanted to give stray dogs a home.
She got dogs from a number of shelters. Each time she took the dog home, killed it, cooked it and ate it.
She also posted it online. That is how the shelters found out.

This is a shelters worst nightmare. They thought they had found good homes for their dogs. To find out that they were killed and eaten must have been horrifying.
What the woman did isn't actually illegal, but itis a real breach of trust. She took the dogs with the understanding that they were going to be pets.
For her to kill and eat them was a violation of that contract.
Clearly adoption contracts and protocols need to be much stricter. Maybe shelters need to do an online search of prospective adopters.
The whole adoption process needs to be much more detailed. At least they caught her and alerted other shelters.
How sad for the dogs who thought they were going home, but ended up being killed and eaten.
It is such a betrayal of the dogs and the shelters who cared for them.

It is horrible. The dogs would have gone with her, so trusting and so hoping for a bright future.
She is a terrible person.
