New species of Mouse Possum discovered - Catherine - 09-16-2025
A new Marsupial, a type of mouse possum has been discovered in the Andes of Peru.
They have a tail that is longer than their body and they live at extreme heights.
The animal was found inside Rio Abiseo National Park.
They are now looking to find new specimens.

We have not yet found all the species that live on earth.
Sadly some will go extinct before we even meet them.
At least we found this one in time. Who knows what we will learn about it. Who knows what other species we will find.
