55 Bald Eagles seen in southern Manitoba - Catherine - 01-03-2026

Someone driving along a road in southern Manitoba saw some Bald Eagles in the trees along the road. It turned out there were 55 of them.

This is incredible. The use of DDT in the 1960s and habitat loss seriously depleted the Bald Eagle population. Seeing so many birds together is a sign that their numbers really are increasing. When we do the right thing, like banning DDT, nature can recover. That would be a moment to remember forĀ  a lifetime, seeing that many Bald Eagles at once. I am glad they shared it with us.
