A seal jumped onto a boat to escape Orcas - Catherine - 02-07-2026
A family in a boat off of BC noticed some Orcas with a seal in their midst. Then the Orcas and seal surrounded their boat.
The seal them jumped onto their boat. The Orcas circled for a while and then gave up. The seal waited a bit and then took off.

That was quite a wildlife encounter. They were right in the middle of an orca hunt.
That was a clever seal. He was not going to escape the Orcas without help and the boat was the help he needed.
This is not the first time seals have used humans to escape Orcas. They have figured out that we are less dangerous
than a pod of Orcas. I wonder if they communicate that to each other somehow?
