6 orphaned moose calves - Catherine - 08-03-2026
The Medicine River Wildlife Centre is currently home to six moose calves. They are left alone when their mothers are hit by cars.
The centre is raising them carefully so they are not used to humans and can be released later. When the moose come into the area in the fall, the calves cab be released and they will join the adult herd.

It is amazing how well they have learned to raise orphaned wildlife so that it can stay wild. Wearing a moose mask is real dedication to doing the job right.
I hope the six are able to grow strong and return to the wild. It is sad that they lost their mothers, but they still have a chance of a full life as a moose.
