Anti Whaling ship seized in Iceland - Catherine - 08-06-2026
Paul Watson Foundation's anti whaling ship and its crew have been seized in Icelandic waters.
They will probably be deported and banned from returning to Iceland.
Iceland is one of the few countries that still hunts whales. They don't really eat whale meat anymore and there is little market for it globally, but they are still hunting whales.

I think the crew of the Bandero knew they would be seized. They are boldly trying to stop whaling ships.
Even if they can't stop the whalers, they are making the public aware that whaling is still going on.
Iceland comes so close to banning whaling and then it issues permits and it starts back up.
I don't know what it will take to end whaling. The pressure from anti whaling groups does help the cause.
