Turtle released 12 years ago reappears - Catherine - 09-02-2026
Ivy, the Blanding's Turtle was released 12 years ago. There has been no sign of her since then. And now she has reappeared. She is doing well and has laid eggs.
Those eggs hatched and were raised for release like Ivy. This is proof that the Great meadows Program is working.

This is a real success story. They are working to help the Blanding's Turtles survive. Finding a released turtle that has reached maturity and has laid eggs is the best result. Releasing her offspring back into the wild under the same program is more that they ever hoped for. Conservation efforts do bring results.
