70 acres of 400 acre farm returned to nature - Catherine - 09-08-2026

Part of a 400 acre farm was prone to flooding and the water was polluted.
The farmer chose to return the flooded areas to being a natural wetland. The number of ducks and other water fowl has increased.
Other birds and small animals have increased. The plant diversity has increased. It has been a total success.

The 70  acres were not really productive as farmland. As a natural area it is a great success. It benefits the whole farm to have some of the land in a natural state.
Rewilding benefits everyone. Nature thrives and farmland is more productive. Even after many years, nature is able to return an restore the land.
Rewilding is possible anywhere.
