Capybara still on the loose - Catherine - 10-02-2026
In March 2026 two Capybara took off from Marwell Zoo in Hampshire. After a few days Tango was haapily returned to the zoo. Her sister, Samba, is still on the loose and seems to have settled into life in the wetlands. She has been seen, but she is not giving herself up.

Capybaras are pretty adaptable. They also are great swimmers and love wetlands. She has no reason to give up her wild life.
Maybe when it gets colder she will rethink things, but for now, she is living her best life.
