Baby gorilla rescued from trafficking will return to the wild - Catherine - 10-18-2026
Bili, a baby gorilla, was rescued by Nigerian Customs Service Special Wildlife Office. She was taken to Drill Ranch, the Pandrillus wildlife rehabilitation center.
She was traumatized and in very bad shape, but with good care she has recovered. No she is being prepared for eventual release into the wild.

If Bili can really be released and thrive in the wild it would be amazing. Trafficking has been going on for a long time. Rescued babies often don't survive.
Releasing them was not possible. It would be better if she had never been taken, but at least someday she can live out her life as she should.
For now she is moving towards a better future.
