Conscientious farmers do not need to kill wildlife
#1
For too long farmers have been killing wildlife to protect their animals. One Vermont farmer challenges that idea. She suggests that better animal care, in particular attention to fences would protect farm animals and allow wildlife to thrive. Wildlife predators take care of wildlife pests so their presence is actually beneficial.

There are ranchers in Alberta who agree with her.

We need a change in our thinking. Our whole relationship to nature needs to be realigned. Wildlife is an essential part of the world we live in. Our farming needs to fit in with nature, not the other way round.  Farmers who work with nature can protect their animals without killing and disrupting the local balance of nature.
