150 Beached Whales in Australia
#1
Sad
This is heart breaking. Over 150 whales have beached themselves in Hamelin Bay in western Australia. Only 15 are still alive.
This is a terrible loss of life. They are thought to be short finned pilot whales. It is not clear why this has happened.

This is not the first time there have been beachings in the area. They plan to study tissue samples from the dead animals. Maybe some day we will figure out why it happens. I can't understand why so many whales would end up on the beach. Surely the first ones in trouble would warn the others. Are the oceans so bad that the whales will die to get away from them?
Whatever the cause we need to take this seriously. It is a warning sign that something is wrong.
