Ducks rescued from oil spill
#1
There is oil leaking from an accident, right into a Toronto creek.
Unfortunately there are many ducks who live on that creek. Fortunately Toronto Wildlife is there to help. For the next few days they will be bathing ducks and treating them to prevent the oil from making the birds sick.

Ducks are hard to catch oiled or not.

Good thing the dish detergent has been donated, They will need caseloads. I am sure they are still catching ducks. Sadly some might not make it. However the great staff and volunteers at the Toronto Wildlife Centre will work their usual miracles and help as many as they can.

Good news, many of the ducks are alright and have been released already. I think fast action and dedicated workers did a lot towards saving the ducks.

Sadly some did not make it. Wildlife and oil spills just don't mix well.
We need to do more to prevent oil spills and other habitat contamination.
