Conservation officer suspended for Not Killing bear cubs
#1
I found an up date on the conservation officer story. He is still not in his real job, but he is getting paid. They are trying to transfer him to another department. That would be a real loss to the conservation department. Bryce Casavant is the kind of person we need working for conservation.

What ever happens the baby bears are safe. They wouldn't dare kill them because the public is watching.

At least the babies are safe.
He really does sound like the sort of person needed in the job. I hope it all works out for him.

There has been such a protest that they don't dare fire him. Hopefully the pressure will keep him in his job in the end. The baby bears are safe because they are so well known.

The mother was killed because she was raiding someone's freezer full of salmon. It happened a number of times and if you think about it, why was that freezer somewhere where a bear could get at it.

People here who whine about the racoons leave food where they can get at it. When we have a bad encounter with wildlife, it is usually our fault.
