Something needs to be done and soon!

Iran is hiring contract killers to kill the stray dogs in various ways so long as it is cheap to do.
I tried to find a petition about the deliberate starving of dogs, but couldn't find that one.

I did find one on change.org "Stop senseless killing of stray dogs in Mashhad (Iran), and the dirty business behind it " but for some strange reason that petition has been closed, with 696 signatures still needed to reach the 7500 goal!

I found this one:
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/en-gb/349...iraz-iran/

(my name is still stuck to the page after I signed and I can't get rid of it but that doesn't matter.)

Have you heard anything yet from the International Humane Society, Ruth?

Your name is still on the petition, but it seems to be closed.

I am sure they don't want the publicity, but they do want to make money from cruelty.

These men are horrible people living in a horrible country.

I don't know what it will take to stop them.

No, I haven't heard from HSI yet. I bet they get a lot of messages about abuse of animals.

That is a group I am not familiar with. There are a lot of groups working in different areas. Hopefully the information will reach the right group. I am sure there are animal rights/animal protection groups in the area. They may already know. This is not the first town to start killing dogs is terrible ways.

There are some things happening in Iran.

This is an interesting article about the animal rights situation in Iran.

This is more recent and it shows that there is an animal rights movement in Iran.  No doubt they know what is going on.

I don't know if the animal right movement in Iran is strong enough to do anything right now.

That first link has some really awful ways of dealing with stray dogs. Too bad they are not like the Land of the Strays where there are 900 dogs being loved.

Hopefully the Land of Strays will become an example for other countries to follow.

Yes, I really hope so. They have the right idea. The stupid Iranians don't know what they are doing! I mean the ones starving the dogs only.

There are a lot of countries that have serious stray problems that are doing the wrong things to control the problem. They make terrible, cruel choices. They have not thought about how such behavior will effect their whole country and international opinion of them. They have not looked at how cruel they are being. These are very insensitive people. I hope something like the work of the animal rights protestors will make them think.

Why people turn to cruelty of animals is beyond me. They should put themselves in the animals place and try to understand them like we do.
