Yale questioned over cases of animal neglect and abuse
#1
An animal rights group is calling on Yale to investigate 11 incidents in which 250 animals died of neglect or abuse.

Yale is a prestigious university with a good reputation. They do receive government money for the research they do. It is unfortunate that they still do research on lab animals. It is unacceptable that so many have died of neglect or because of mistakes. Lab animals have starved to death because someone failed to feed them. Animals suffocated because their ventilation was blocked.
These animals are not dying for so called research. They are dying from neglect. How much value is there in their research when their animal care is so flawed.

If this is the best they can do then they should shut down their labs and pursue other avenues of research.

How terrible! And from a university like Yale! Shameful and very sad.

Places that do animal testing seem to get complacent about animal care. It is as if knowing the animals are going to die in experiments makes people not care if they starve to death. They are going to die anyhow.

Two things: Yes the animals are going to die, but it shouldn't be for nothing. It shouldn't be because of human carelessness.
Also this lack of caring for the animals is a good indicator that we should stop animal testing. It doesn't just kill the                     animals, it has a negative effect on the people we work with the animals.

If this kind of abuse and neglect happens at Yale, I shudder to think what happens elsewhere.
