United Airlines does it again
#1
Fortunately the dogs involved this time are still alive. However two dogs and their owners had a frightening few days after they were somehow switched and loaded on the wrong planes. The dogs are not even similar breeds so it takes some serious carelessness to mix them up.
In the same week another dog was loaded on the wrong plane and that flight was diverted so the dog could be removed and sent to the right destination.

The fact that different flights in different airports with different staff are all making serious mistakes tells me this is deeper than a one time mistake. There is something in the airlines procedures and its attitude towards shipping animals that is resulting in mix-ups and even deaths.

It is fine that the airline is apologizing and even compensation people, but until they sort out why this is happening and establish new procedures that are safer, United Airlines should stop shipping animals. They are clearly are doing a bad job of it and it is not right to continue to endanger animal lives.

I hope given the number of stories in the news, people will consider alternate ways of transporting their pets. No dog should die like the dog who died in the overhead bin.
