For our Canadian members....

Legislation on transportation of farm animals has been repeatedly delayed in Canada. If you live in that country, please send a message to your MP via this page:

Thank-you for posting this. We are in the midst of an extreme heat wave. They are warning people to stay indoors and carry water at all times. Transporting animals in this extreme heat is cruelty. It is also stupid. What is the point of transporting animals that are going to die in transit.  The temperature was 35C with a humidex in the 40s. The trucks have air conditioning for the drivers. They couldn't manage otherwise.

Canada needs to seriously review farm animal transport. A matter of months from now the temperature will be -35C  with who knows what wind chill factor and animals being transported will die in transit. The driver will have a heater in his part of the truck.

We alternate between cruelly freezing animals to death and cruelly causing them to die of heat stress and dehydration.
The Canadian climate isn't going to change so we have to be the ones who change how we do things.

I hope Humane Canada is successful in their campaign. I encourage every Canadian to sign and to share this where ever you can.
