Bees stopped buzzing during solar eclipse
#1
Last years solar eclipse generated a lot of information. Scientists studied many thing. The behavior of animals was one area of interest. Microphones were set out so that bees could be heard during the eclipse. It turns out the bees were silent.

It was expected that the bees would be less active. It was a surprize that they were totally quiet. Very likely they were not flying at all. We may need to wait until there is another eclipse to really look at this, but for now we have lots to think about.

That is strange, but animals and insects feel things before we do so there may be a logical reason for it.

They wouldn't have known about the bees if they hadn't put out microphones. I think the more they study the way animals respond to things the more we will be surprized. I want to know how animals respond to things like hurricanes, tornados and earthquakes. We might be surprized  by the way bees respond to such things. Do they know before hand? How do the react.
There is so much we don't know yet.
