Judge rules to save red wolves
#1
The red wolf is a highly endangered species. They range from Texas to the Carolinas or at least they once di.
Now their numbers are few. Conservation efforts built the numbers back up and then lack of effort and removal of protections have let the numbers decline. It wasn't looking good.
Judge Terrance Boyle has ruled in favour of the wolves and has given them a chance to survive.

It is a scary thought that the fate of an endangered species depends on the ruling of one judge. If he had ruled against the wolves they would probably be extinct soon.  Too many of our conservation efforts are that fragile. I am glad of this victory, but it shouldn't have been needed. The wolves should have been protected by policies not law suits.
