Researchers in Finland say they have made an edible vaccine for insects, which may help honeybees:

Th vaccine's purpose is to protect Bees against "American Foulbrood" a deadly bacterial disease which devastates honeybee populations.
The vaccine is still at the testing stage but shows promise.

I have heard of Foulbrood. Bee keepers not only burn the hive, they burn their gloves and anything that touched the hive.
It seems drastic, but it is an emergency. They can't risk it spreading.

If they have a vaccine they will save a lot of bees. I really hope it works.

This may be the beginning of a better future for pollinators. If they can protect them against the various diseases that are destroying them then their numbers can improve again.

I wonder if they can ever make them  able to withstand the various pesticides we still use. It would solve a big problem.

I am absolutely hoping this works.
