Our Planet, a new David Attenborough series

Our Planet is a new series that premiered on Netflix on April 5, 2019.  It is the product of newer technology so it is visually stunning. It also recognizes that wildlife is in dire straights. Many species are in trouble because of things humans have done.
This series is a call to action encouraging us to do something before it is too late.

Warning, this is not a cute nature documentary. It shows what happens to animals who are being effected by climate change.
Somethings you just can't unsee and I shouldn't want to. If the animals have to suffer things because of what my species has done to the  planet, who am I to hide from the truth. They have to live and die with the truth every day.

It seems people are finding some scenes very hard to watch. They let their children watch as well.
The director has responded, defending the showing of the difficult scenes. She felt it would be a disservice to the animals not to show what they have to live and die with.

I think the director's reasoning is very much like my reason for watching the scenes. This is going on and the truth needs to be known. I needed to know. I couldn't recommend the series if I hadn't watched it first.  I owe it to the walruses to know what they are suffering. This is especially true if climate change plays a part in the walrus deaths.
