Fur Pets Sake works with First Nations on the stray dog problem
#1
Many of the First Nations communities in Canada are in remote locations. There is no veterinary care for their dogs in the areas and there are no spay and neuter services. There are a number of groups working to help in different parts of the country. In Northern BC, Fur Pets Sake is working with the First Nations communities and other charities and rescues to provide spay and neuter services for the local dogs and to rescue the strays.

It is really critical that something be done. Packs of stray dogs have been known to hurt adults and children.
The situation is urgent

This is good news for Northern BC. It may take a lot of work over time, but the stray dog situation didn't happen over night. If they can spay and neuter dogs there will be less puppies and the numbers will not increase. As they remove strays from and area, the dog numbers should become more manageable.

This is a big problem and I admire the humane way it is being handled. In so many places strays dogs problems are handled by cruel culls.  Here they are working to help the human communities and help the dogs at the same time.
I hope they are successful.
