Greenland is melting, the Amazon is burning
#1
Greenland is melting and it is melting at a much faster rate than was expected. What does this mean for us and the rest of life on this planet? We really don't know.

It is going to be a different world and many species won't survive. If all of Greenland's ice melts the sea could rise 20 feet.  But what about the melting ice from Antarctica and other places. Just how high will the oceans go. How hot will it get. Can species adapt to the changes.
Many of us are going to live to see some very sad extinctions.

Then there is Brazil. The Amazon Rainforest is on fire.

This is very bad for the whole planet. Who knows how bad it will be. It depends on how much burns.
We have no way of knowing what the effect will be. Combine this with Greenland melting and it doesn't look good for us.

I read somewhere that we should stop talking about now being the hottest year in the last 100 years. Rather we should think of this as the coolest year in the next 100 years. Good point. It could be a lot harder to live than we anticipated. We are going to wish we had done more while we had the chance.
