Dangerous rabbit virus on Vancouver Island
#1
There have been problems with Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease before. The government is warning rabbit owners after two dead feral rabbits were found to be infected with the disease. It is highly infectious and lethal so rabbit owners are being advised to take extreme caution to protect their pets.

It would be frightening to have a rabbit right now on Vancouver Island. It is too bad that there is no vaccine to protect the rabbits.
I would think that outdoor runs would be too dangerous because it is not clear how the virus is being spread.
I hope that hand washing and keeping things clean will be enough to protect people's pets. I wish them all luck. I hope no more cases are found.
