Warmer ocean waters kill coral reefs in Hawaii
#1
This year has seen warmer than normal water temperatures in the waters around Hawaii. This is causing a die off of Corals that are still barely recovering from the 2015 die offs.

This is serious and it is a sign that are oceans are in trouble. Even a slight rise in ocean temperatures can have a catastrophic effect on life in the oceans. Even if you live a long way inland like I do, the health of our oceans matters. The health of our planet depends on the health of our oceans. A lot of the Earth is covered by oceans. If they fail to sustain life things are not going to be too good for the rest of us. We get most of our oxygen from the oceans. With serious fire damage to the Amazon rainforest, one of our other smaller oxygen sources, we could be in trouble. It bears thinking about and then we need to act. It needs to be a global call to action with all countries doing their part and all people in  each country doing their part. Less than that may not be enough anymore.
