Animal SOS Sri Lanka -rescuing street dogs and cats

Animal SOS Sri Lanka

Are fundraising to help rescued dogs and cats in Sri Lanka.

https://www.gofundme.com/f/kim039s-campa...-sri-lanka

Quoting from their GoFundMe page:

"We are in desperate need for more shelter areas at our sanctuary. Dozens of our rescued dogs that have been through hell and back are getting drenched day and night due to weeks of heavy rains and they are suffering. It is so heartbreaking to witness.
One dog has been treated for hypothermia today after being found drenched in a drain and others will become sick too without shelter.
The sanctuary was also flooded today and we were fearful that our rescues would drown. The charity does not have the funds to build the numbers of shelters we really need.  We are almost out of funds to keep this project going so have no reserves for more and more building works.
We  have also got leaking roofs in our disabled dog compounds which often means that these special needs animals are lying in water at night during heavy rains. It's totally heartbreaking..."

"We are currently caring for 1600 dogs and 55 cats at the sanctuary and  need to raise approx 20,000 GBP to ensure we get at least 12 robust shelter areas built on our 4 acre site. Please help  if you can."

"....More information about Animal SOS Sri Lanka: We are a UK Registered Charity striving to alleviate the immense suffering of stray animals in Sri Lanka. We have a free roaming animal sanctuary with over 1600 rescued street dogs and cats. We provide lifesaving veterinary care, rehabilitation, adoption/education schemes, free neutering and rabies control programs. We give refuge to many 'special needs' animals too. We are a lifeline to 1000's of stray animals in Sri Lanka."

What an incredible shelter. They do so much good work and help so many animals. They are making a real difference in the lives of animals in Sri Lanka. I hope they can raise enough money to built more shelter space and keep doing the work they do.
It makes me feel hopeful about the world when I know such good work is being done.
