A large Manatee was stuck on the sand after a particularly high tide. Rescuers had to bring in a bull dozer to clear sand and create a water pathway. It still took a lot of work to get the large mammal into the water again. However, it did work and the Manatee eventually swam to freedom.

Manatees are such gentle animals and they are so helpless on land. They are having such a hard time that it really matters that they were able to save this one.
I wonder who got the bright idea to use a bulldozer. It wasn't a pretty recue, but it worked.
