Tasmanian Tiger: living or extinct?
#1
The last know wild Tasmanian Tiger was shot in 1930. The last captive Tasmanian Tiger died in 1936.
Since then there have been numerous unconfirmed and sometimes unlikely sightings.
Are there still Tasmanian Tigers alive or do people see them because they want to see them.  It is just not clear. Maybe they are still alive. Some of the sightings are unlikely, but some are pretty good. They could be Tasmanian Tigers.

I want to believe they are still alive. It would mean hope that many other extinct species could still be alive.
Other supposedly extinct species have been spotted. Why not the Tasmanian Tigers.

Even if they are really gone, the supposed sightings are a sign that people want them to live. It shows an interest in the environment and the survival of species. That is a good thing. Anything that gets people taking the environment seriously is a good thing.
Gone or not gone, the Tasmanian Tigers  can help with conservation efforts. If they are lost their lack of presence is helping bring an awareness that can only be good for other species.

I still hope they are not extinct. Extinction is too final.
