An anti poaching patrol came across three people with guns and poaching equipment. A shootout occurred and two of the poachers were killed. Last year 796 rhinos were lost to poachers.

Losing two poachers is just a start at protecting the rhinos, but it is a start. If rhino poaching becomes too dangerous we can hope that poachers look for other ways to make money. It is ridiculous to have a species killed to the point of extinction because someone thinks its horn is a useful medicine. Even if it was, that doesn't justify the poaching.
I think they have to do whatever it takes to protect the rhinos.
