Operation Rock Wallaby
#1
In NSW Australia there is an operation underway to drop food for animals who survived the fires, but are at risk because of the loss of their food sources. Since the target animal for feeding is the Rock Wallaby, they are calling it Operation Rock Wallaby. Over 2000 pounds of carrots and sweet potatoes have been dropped so far. These vegetables will feed the Wallabies and anything else in the area until normal feed supplies can recover. This is an important part of helping animals who survived the initial fire to survive in a post fire environment.

This is really good planning. They are dropping foods that can survive being dropped. They are foods that don't spoil quickly.
They would have to fly over and drop them. Trying to reach areas by land is too inefficient. I wonder how many carrots it will take before natural vegetation returns.
