Pregnant Fox rescued from leghold trap
#1
A pregnant fox was caught in a leghold trap in BC. The fox was found dragging her self and the trap. She was rescued and is in the
Northern Lights Wildlife Society's care. Surgery was done to fix her damaged leg. It is not clear yet if the foot can survive.
She has given birth to 4 kits and 3 have survived.

This fox clearly suffered and if she had already given birth her kits would be dead. Leghold traps need to be banned, not just in BC, but everywhere. They kill and main anything. Animals that are not the target are often caught and suffer and die. Too often people's pets are caught in traps. It is not okay to just set out a trap that can seriously injure something and then just leave it. That is how leghold traps work. There is no justification for something that even when it works is inherently cruel.  Things are okay for this fox, but what about all the other animals who are caught and not rescued?

Leghold traps must be banned.
