Warnings about tick season
#1
As the weather warms up and people are out there with their dogs, they need to be aware that the ticks are out there too.
One BC resident came home with her dog and found 14 ticks. She safely removed them and her dog was medicated against ticks, but it should still serve as a warning for all dog owners.

The article has a presentation from Interior health with 7 tips to prevent ticks. This information applies to all parts of the world that have ticks. If you are walking you dog as the weather warms up, it would be wise to Google your area and find out if ticks are a problem. It is not just the ticks getting on you or your dog and biting, in many areas ticks can transmit serious illnesses like Lyme disease. If you are informed you can protect yourself. If I tick does attach itself you can seek medical help in time to prevent serious illness.

Be aware and be careful and enjoy your walks with your dog.
