Micro plastics settle on the ocean floor.
#1
We all know about the great garbage patches in the oceans. They contain a lot of plastic, but they don't account for the majority of plastic that enters the oceans.
Research has confirmed what was suspected, the microplastic particles are settling on the deep ocean floor and the currents are concentrating them in certain places.

Now we know where the plastic is, but we don't know what that means for life in the oceans. We have changed the composition of the ocean floor. How will that effect life in the ocean. How will that effect life elsewhere on the planet. Healthy oceans are vital to the health of the planet. Is there any way we can fix this and what happens if we don't. Just one more thing for us to worry about these days.
