Thousands of mink to be culled in Spain because of Covid 19

The Spanish authorities have ordered 92,700 mink killed because some have tested positive for Covid 19.  These mink were raised in cruel conditions. Their only future was to be killed for their fur. Now they have a virus that humans have given to them. So now they will be  killed. It is unlikely to be a humane death.

This whole situation is a mess. The mink would have no way of getting Covid 19 except from humans. Now they are paying for that mistake with their lives. 
We only have Covid 19 because we have been careless in allowing wildlife to be sold and killed in market places where there are few precautions and very little food handling  protocols. The whole situation is a mess and we need to make some changes. Maybe it is time for mink farming to be ended. Certainly it is time to stop wearing fur.
