Grieving Orca is pregnant again
#1
Two years ago we all watched with sadness as a grieving Orca mother, J35,  carried her dead calf for 17 days. She couldn't bear to let him go. It is estimated that she traveled more that 1600  Km.  Happily she is now pregnant again! A number of the southern resident population of Orcas are now pregnant. This means there is hope for their pod. They could increase their numbers. The presence of young would be uplifting for the rest of the Orcas.

Now we just have to hope that all goes well and all the babies are born safely. In particular I hope that J35  gives birth to a healthy baby. She has greived enough for one lifetime. She deserve a happy outcome this time.
