Nine baby Koalas born at the Australian Reptile Park
#1
Happy News! Nine baby Koalas were just born at the Australian Reptile Park. They have a conservation breeding program and these are the first births since the devastating wildfires. This is tremendous because it means their breeding program in successful. It is also an increase in the number of Koalas. Koalas are so vulnerable right now  that they could easily be lost to extinction. An increase in their numbers is a real sign of hope.

In the midst of terrible losses of animal life and now terrible losses of human life, it is wonderful to have some good news. Breeding programs like this can keep a species going and even return them to the wild at a later date. Many species have survived because of breeding programs like this. Right now the koalas need all the help they can get. Nine new healthy babies is a really good sign that the help is working.
